Staying in Chora

The only downside is that you’re 300 metres above the sea - a bus ride or walk from the beaches.

Staying at Karavostasi

The port is functional rather than pretty - a cluster of tavernas and small hotels around the ferry quay. The beach here is the closest to proper swimming if you don’t want to take the bus up to Chora every morning. Ferries arrive and depart here, which is relevant if you have an unusual arrival or departure time.

Staying at Angali

There are a handful of rooms-to-rent near Angali beach on the west coast. These are for visitors who want to be closest to the beach and don’t mind being a bus or hike from Chora. Limited facilities; best suited to independent travellers who plan to self-cater.

Booking Notes

The island has no large hotel chains and very limited presence on mainstream booking platforms.
